The leather trade, agriculture, the wood industry and mining, the state economy today has long been dominated by a diversified sequence following an important industrialization in the 20th and 20th centuries. Mineral wealth is very abundant. Most important are iron and copper ores, money, potash, coal, rock salt, oil and natural gas.
Agriculture and forestry remained important sectors. The main agricultural resources are dairy and beef farming, cereals, soybeans, sugar beets, potatoes, vegetables and fruit trees. The orchards are concentrated in the border of Lake Michigan. The state is one of the first national producers of cherries, apples, plums and pears.
Michigan Industries
Michigan is one of the leading industrial states in the United States. The automotive industry is dominant. Michigan State is the first tourism vehicle production center in the United States. Three major American car manufacturers, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler, have their world headquarters in the Detroit region. Other industrial activities are oil refining, mechanical construction, steel, chemistry, electronics, the rubber and plastics industry, agri-food, textile (clothing), the wood industry (paper, furniture ). The tourism industry is also very important.
The main tourist sites are the Isle Real Cidadão Park, on Lake Superior; the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, with polychrome gray cliffs; the Sleeping Bear Dunes Citizen Lakeshore, large dunes located on the edge of Lake Michigan. Historical sites commemorate the installation of the first settlers. The Great Lakes have a considerable weight in the Michigan economy, namely for the transport of materials first. Detroit is the main port in the state.

Ann Arbor

Detroit

The city is one of the largest industrial cities in the United States and an important railway, road and air traffic hub. In addition, it is the largest car industry center in the world, with a bazaar for, among others, Ford, General Motors (GM) and DaimlerChrysler. He also has the aerospace and arms industry, the electrical engineering industry, the aluminum industry and the chemical industry.
Detroit also has several universities, a technical college and a music college. The town was founded by the Frenchman Antoine de Cadillac in 1701.
Flint
Flint, a city in the state of Michigan in the United States with about 120,000 residents. It is part of the metropolitan area around Detroit with about 6.1 million residents. Aircraft and automotive industries (General Motors), foundries and paint factories are especially important. The city was founded in 1819 and later became a center for the lumber industry.
Grand Rapids

Lansing
