Light walking shoes

Some wear them year-round, in the office as in the high mountains. Should still take a few precautions. There are two types of light hiking shoes, according to sportingology:

Use recommended:

-Price: indeed, the technicality justifies the price…
-The low stem does not maintain the ankle.
-Although a Goretex membrane covered models exist, these shoes will protect you not long water and cold because of the lower stem.

To stem mid-high hiking shoes

U use recommended:

-This is the most versatile hiking shoe.
-Ideal for day trips, but little suited if you leave independently complete.
-Can very well be taken during a hike of a few days.
-For small ballads without elevation, the stiffness will hinder you…
-It’s for the beginners as well as regular practitioners.
-Allows you to attend courses very different (from walking in the forest to alpine trails).
-To advise the majority of hikers and all beginners wishing to learn about the mountain terrain.

Benefits:

-The high stem, protected the ankle of sprain, especially if you carry a backpack a little heavy.
-High Rod also gains impermeability: do more afraid to go hiking in the puddles!
-The soles are usually quite technical and allow a good grip.

Weak points:

-A bit heavier than the low-cut shoes.
-A bit less flexible sole.

Great hiking shoes

U use recommended:

-This type of shoe is certainly for the hikers who have big ambitions.
-Although their characteristics (strength, impermeability, comfort) seem ideal, these shoes you will look too heavy and little breathable if you don’t plan long touring rides.
-Book for your more long runs and plan a pair of low cut for your small ballads.

Strong points:

-Robust, it’s the Queen of the swivel guns.
-The high stem (sometimes more), the overall stiffness and the many reinforcements (stone-guard front and side) ensure greater security during long hikes on difficult terrain, even if you carry a backpack heavy.
-They have a very good water resistance and therefore offer better comfort classic hiking shoes in weather difficult. They often have in addition a waterproof membrane type Gore-Tex.
-Often leather, these great hiking shoes are designed to last in time, unless you’re particularly experienced, you’re not ready to wear out them.

Weak points :

-They are usually quite expensive (but think of them as an investment so they are robust).
-Relatively rigid, it is also for this reason that you must be very careful to choose comfortable.
-Breathability. It is the compromise to be very tight. Leather they will be watertight but can not breathe very well. Synthetic, the use of a sealed membrane type Gore-Tex will make it less breathable shoe.

Mountaineering shoes

The big, heavy. Essential outings or ice field technical or winter in the high mountains. The most expensive also. We leave here the field of hiking to arrive in mountaineering. This is the shoe that will allow you to walk the glaciers around the world and even climb. It is composed of thick leather or rigid plastic, and all the elements are very technical: protection, warmth, breathability, lacing, sole,… A gaiter can even be added to raise the rod and keep the snow. Finally, essential detail, the front of the shoe is suitable for setting automatic crampons.
