Samsung has applied for a patent on mobile with dual display that can be folded, product is expected in 2015.
Samsung has applied for a patent for a mobile with dual display that can be folded, a design reminiscent of the Sony Xperia P but also borrows a little from Lenovo Yoga tablet as it can be raised and stand on its own.
Samsung expects to have a product on the market in 2015 and has also been thinking about how the device is to be used. Among other things, one could view attachments or Clipboard like known from Microsoft Office.
Other uses could be multiplayer games where you can sit across from each other, each with a different monitor.
It doesn’t sound like such a groundbreaking, and how useful it will be in practice, I don’t know, but nevertheless it is great to see that there be in alternative solutions to the normal smartphone. Already today there are good enough YotaPhone with dual display functionality of the dual screens on YotaPhone, however, is not in the same path as this patent suggests.
