Google + in the air. All very beautiful, all very gray. Gradually, Brazilian users will arrive in new attack on web giant’s social networking. Just can not get excited too with the alleged information sharing controls in service. A page in the help section of the “Google+ Project” shows that Google has no intention of offering private profiles.
The Mashable found that the character of the tests Google+ does not provide for the creation of private profiles, in which the participants of the social network hide all your information. This ends on July 31, when private profiles no longer exist, according to information provided by Google.
“The purpose of Google Profiles is to enable you to manage your online identity. Currently, nearly all Google Profiles are public. We believe that the best use of Google Profiles is to help people find and connect with you online. Private profiles do not allow this, so we decided to require all profiles to be public. “This is how the company supports the position to offer only public profiles.
And what will happen to my profile if I do not want to open it to the world? It will be deleted, also according to company information. There will be no exceptions. Or the profile is open to all fuçarem see, or does not exist.
The Google says Google+ just ask the full name of the subject to release the account.
The Facebook has always allowed Internet users decide which profile information can be viewed by different contact levels. For example, I closed my date birthday so only friends can view this information. In contact with TB, the Google clarified that the same mechanism is used in Google+. Only the name and gender should necessarily appear. Other information may be omitted from certain users.
You have until July 31 to decide whether to have a public profile on Google+ or not.
Update – 06.07.2011 13.05 | Some readers suggest they understand that only the name and gender are required to display a profile on Google+. The help page on the subject says the following:
Remember that your full name is the only required information that will be displayed on your profile. You can edit or remove other information that you do not want to share.
In my understanding, name and gender are the least. Any other information may be removed. If they remain in the profile will be public. But I may be wrong, of course. I am in contact with Google to clarify this issue.
