TREATMENT
On the territory of Kazakhstan there are several balneological resorts, which operate on the basis of local mineral water sources. Sanatorium “Sosnovy Bor” is located 45 km from Kostanay. Local mineral waters have a sulfate-chloride-sodium composition, similar to the composition of the waters of the Pyatigorsky, Essentuki 17 and Karlovy Vary springs. With their help, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular system, musculoskeletal system, lung diseases, diseases of the ear, throat and nose, diseases of the genitourinary system, gynecological diseases, skin diseases and metabolic disorders are treated. The following types of treatment are used in the sanatorium: hydrotherapy, mud therapy (local sulphide-silt mud is used), physiotherapy and climate therapy. On the territory of the sanatorium there is also a children’s health camp, a sports complex, swimming pools and tennis courts.
In the Almaty region, on the border with the East Kazakhstan region, “Arasan-Kapal”. According to whicheverhealth, Arasan-Kapal mineral springs belong to weakly radioactive, weakly sulphate-chloride-sodium terms. The temperature of most springs is +35..+37 degrees. Also in the East Kazakhstan region, on the territory of the Katon-Karagay national park, 100 km from the Burkhat pass on the shore of the Rakhmanovsky lake, there is a high-mountain sanatorium “Rakhmanovsky Klyuchi”. It functions on the basis of local thermal radon springs with water temperature from +34 to +42 degrees. The sanatorium treats diseases of the musculoskeletal system, peripheral and central nervous system and various skin diseases.
South of Shymkent, on the border with Uzbekistan, there is one of the most famous balneological resorts Kazakhstan – Saryagash. Local sources of mineral waters were discovered in 1949 while searching for oil deposits. Saryagash mineral waters belong to the hydrocarbonate-sodium type and help in the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. In 1995, a mineral plant was built here and now Saryagash mineral water can be seen on sale throughout the country. Many sanatoriums have been built in Saryagash, and most of them have a developed infrastructure and are distinguished by a high level of service.
LAKES
In the central part of the country there is the largest of the lakes located entirely on the territory of Kazakhstan – Lake Balkhash (area – 18.2 thousand sq. km). Its length reaches 614 km, its width is 44 km, and the maximum depth is 26 m. Balkhashis a drainless semi-fresh water lake: its eastern part is salty, and its western part is fresh. The waters of the western part of Balkhash are desalinated by the Ili River, which flows into it. Nature of Lake Balkhash very varied. In its waters there are carp, grass carp, thorn, barbel, trout, marinka, asp, bream, catfish, pike perch, perch, which attracts fishing enthusiasts. Thousands of birds nest along the shores of the lake: cormorants, teals, pheasants, golden eagles, egrets and pelicans. From animals here you can see wild boars, saigas and muskrats. These lands are very beautiful in mid-May, when the time for poppies to bloom begins and the steppe turns red. Also, tourists on Balkhash are offered traditional hunting with trained birds of prey for partridge, black grouse, duck, hare, fox and wolf. The largest settlement located on the shores of the lake is the city of Balkhash. It is located 380 km from Karaganda in the Bertys Bay. 8 hotels were built in the city to accommodate tourists. In the summer, the city offers excursions on the lake on boats and boats, there are also rentals of yachts, boats, catamarans and fishing equipment. Around the city of Balkhash, sandy beaches stretch along which rest houses are located. But still, the most popular place for recreation on Balkhash is the city of Lepsy located on the southeast coast. Lepsy and its environs have a more developed infrastructure.
South of Balkhash in the Almaty region is the Kapchagay reservoir. In summer, locals and tourists flock here. Entire cottage settlements have been built on the reservoir. In 1993, an “Aquapark” was opened here with numerous water attractions. The park covers an area of 18 hectares, on which there are Olympic and jumping pools, a lagoon with waterfalls, 4-beam shivoli slides, children’s plastic slides, cafe bars, shopping kiosks, a rental shop and sports grounds.
Another popular holiday destination is Lake Borovoye, which is located on the territory of the Burabay National Park, 60 km from Kokshetau.. Lake Borovoe has the status of a resort of national importance. The surface area of the lake is 1002 hectares, it is surrounded by picturesque mountains covered with forests and steppes. For its landscape, this region is called “Kazakh Switzerland”. Hotels, sanatoriums and rest houses were built on the shores of Lake Borovoe. The tourist center of the region is the city of Borovoe, here, in addition to hotels, there are restaurants, cafes, bars and discos, rental boats, catamarans and fishing equipment. The most popular place to relax on Lake Borovoe is Blue Bay, along which sandy beaches stretch. In summer, the water in the lake warms up to +18 degrees.
